Finally set yourself a comfort deadline. Do not plan to complete your dissertation on the day that it is due. This is far too stressful. Aim to complete your dissertation at least one week before the formal deadline. This will allow you to respond if you have any unforeseen setbacks to contend with as you complete your dissertation.
One of the most important things you can do to stop yourself feeling completely overwhelmed and drown out by the task of completing a dissertation is to spend a decent amount of time planning your dissertation. If you have a robust study plan in place with key milestones in terms of your research, drafting your work and finalizing your dissertation piece you will find that the task in hand becomes more manageable as you are able to break it down into individual activities that can almost be completed independently of each other.
Quite a few people spend years investigating and composing their dissertation. Choose a topic that you would be interested in studying and writing about in this length of time. If you are not enthusiastic about your topic then there is a higher chance of you not finishing your dissertation. It would be a shame not to complete your doctorate simply because you decided on a boring or uninspiring topic.
Firstly think about your time availability. Realistically how much time do you have available to you for the completion of this dissertation? An academic term can seem like a lifetime but in reality it is probably about 12 weeks. There are 168 hours in a week. Take away the time you need for sleeping, eating and other elements of daily living and see what time you have left. It will probably be between 6 and 8 hours. Now think about the other demands on your time. You may find that you have other assignments to complete for your other modules, other lectures to attend and seminars to participate in. With a dissertation you cannot simply decide to priorities by deadline.
The components, in dissertation writing, assuming you have a plan and have defined the study and its goals, you are ready to write the introduction. The main problem most dissertation writers face is writing the dissertation before they have thoroughly defined the study. Only once you have designed the study should you write the introduction.
The important questions to be answered, the organization of how to write a dissertation introduction is such that it follows a logical structure. Your dissertation introduction should include the main issues in context and in a concise way. It needs to answer questions such as why you chose the specific study, why you are doing it now and here, etc.
